New Zealand Fashion Festival Is Coming – March 16th
It’s official, Tuesday March 16th is the date for the NZ Fashion Festival. So gather up your friends and get along to what looks to be a great night out in Auckland.
Our fashion family is coming out in full force and many of the designers that were present at fashion week will be showcasing their current seasons collections. Cybele, Stolen Girlfriends Club, Adrian Hailwood, Trelise Cooper, Zambesi and Huffer are part of the 16 strong lineup and also a few other non-fashion week designers like Moochi and Workshop.
It’s a treat for those who want a taste of the fashion week excitement and at only $45 per ticket, it’s cheaper than going to a fashion week designer selection show! As a bonus the New Zealand Herald Designer Garage Sale will also be making an appearance and you can shop yourself stupid buying cheap designer gear.

Bay Fashion Students Dominate at Westfield Style Pasifika Awards
It comes as no surprise that each year without fail, the Bay of Plenty Polytech boasts at least one finalist in a section of the Westfield Style Pasifika awards. The past seven years have seen multiple wins by fashion students in the Evening Wear and Asia Pacific sections and in 2007 tutors Debra Laraman and Donna Dinsdale took out the Supreme Award.
This year is no different, as we get word that yet again the Bay of Plenty Polytech has at least half a dozen entries in the finals. It is quite a feat for a single fashion educator to pull together such a high count of finalists in the one competition. It is also quite awe inspiring. One has to wonder if there is a hidden secret to this long line of successes..and perhaps there is?
We hope to catch up with the talented students and faculty at the “BOP Poly” and to discover what it is that makes this group tick. But in the meantime congratulations to all of the fashion students and tutors who have worked hard and made it in to the Westfield Style Pasifika Finals this year. Awesome effort and we wish you well on September the 4th.
Celebrity Fashion Style of the Month : Danity Kane-Celebrity Look of the Week Sarah Jessica Parker
The celebrity fashion style of the month is the girl group Danity Kane. Danity Kane is the hottest girl singing group around and their fashion is as hot as their voices. Danity Kane knows style and Diddy keeps his girls look right with the newest fashion trends and looks for young women of today. From their hairstyles to their clothes, they all have their own unique styles but find a way to bring their looks together as a group. Which is why Danity Kane is the celebrity fashion style of the month.
Celebrity Look of the Week Sarah Jessica Parker. We all know that Sara Jessica has style and she always looks super fab no matter what she wears. She's not afraid to wear something unique and different from the norm but this simple one shoulder white dress is the perfect look. Paired with black tights, a black clutch and a sexy shawl. I also adore the pop of gold on her shoes.
